Here’s the thing about this scene though: I LOVE JOHN WATSON. I mean, what? That is the thing but also I was gonna say that I really enjoy that Sherlock calls for John immediately, and that John just watches Sherlock be ridiculous at first, warns him about Lestrade filming him, and then is finally like, hold up, I can’t watch this shit anymore, get your ridiculous self back in bed. Here, let me tuck you in. Call me if you need me.

Like, I dig it because it’s kind of amusing but also the emotional implications, right? I like that John just brushes off Sherlock asking why he would need John, because did Sherlock or did Sherlock not JUST CALL OUT TO HIM? Also, Sherlock gets drugged and John makes sure he gets home and into bed! Because John!

Sherlock, on the other hand, later tries to drug John and experiments on him, because he’s the worst friend ever. Sherlock Holmes: The Worst. And I’ma stop myself there, ‘cause I can’t get into how I sometimes get grumbly about people juxtaposing the fall with Lestrade’s “good man” quote, because Sherlock is not yet a terribly good man; he’s still pretty shitty pretty often but at least his heart may or may not be creeping toward the right place? Who even knows, because actually faking your death without warning your only friend is awful — the kind of thing you do when you are still The Worst.
