Meet young Derek Hale!
There’s a new pup in town!
Teen Wolf returns for its highly anticipated third season on June 3 and will be delving even deeper into our Beacon Hills’ favorites’ pasts. First up? Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin)!
Ian Nelson has been cast to play young Derek in the MTV hit’s flashback episode (the eighth episode of the season), we’ve exclusively learned.
But don’t expect to see the same intense and broody Derek we all know and love today as Nelson plays Derek at 15 years old, when he was a popular and charming star athlete; this is Derek before disaster struck his family, turning him into a lone werewolf always in search of a new pack.
In the same episode, viewers will also be meeting Derek’s mother Talia, who is a strong and deadly alpha werewolf, and his older sister Laura, a beautiful beta who has the potential to become an alpha.
Nelson is best known for his role as the tribute from District 3 in The Hunger Games.
Teen Wolf returns Monday, June 3 on MTV.
Meep. This is gonna hurt, Tumblr. It’s going to hurt and I think we’re going to like it.
THIS IS WEIRD BECAUSE HE LOOKS LIKE A LESS WEIRD VERSION OF TYLER HOECHLIN AT AGE 15. SO GOOD JOB? VERY EXCITED ABOUT WATCHING HIM BE TRAUMATIZED IN FLASHBACKS.
Teen Wolf fusion with Chicago (the musical, not the city): Cell Block Tango
Based on this exchange between roseandthebeast, giganticism, and mdecarabas.
The quote’s my own (inasmuch as anything in fandom can be my own) but I plan to do sets for the ones these lovely ladies wrote up too (with credit, obviously), especially as “they ran into my arrows ten times” and “some guys just can’t hold their mountain ash” are so deliciously perfect. *ahem*
I’M SCREAMING BECAUSE I DIDN’T SEE THIS UNTIL JUST NOW AND IT’S AMAZING AND PAINFUL OMG!!!!! KATE SO CRAZY!

the moment i let teen wolf into my heart was the moment i realized that the only real continuity this show cares about is the continued effort to make derek hale’s life as terrible as possible always
I have never seen a more accurate summary of this entire show. WELL PLAYED.
I’m reblogging this for my roommate, because it’s like this came from her brain.
TRUE. And I would expand this to almost every character by the end of season 2, actually. Everybody’s life just gets worse and worse and I love that.
